It Is Getting Tougher To Locate A Job – So Create One

As companies are downsizing, and people are spending less, it is becoming tougher to find jobs. Although it can be a demanding occasion, if you stop and look around you can find a way of making your own business.

When I first started my construction business, I contracted myself out as an installer for a water fountain company. It was a especially great contract job, as the owner paid quickly, and as a new business this was really important for me.

As I made a better income with housing, I gave this job to a very good friend of mine. For four years he was earning an excellent income, but when the market started to get shaky, he saw his installations slowly fall off.

He started looking for more jobs and was having a difficult time locating work. The construction industry in his area took a big hit, and there was lots of competition. He called me and we began to come up with various ideas.

He wasn’t really keen on going to work for someone else, as the independence he had had as an independent installer was tough to relinquish. But, at the same time he wanted to work.

We began to look at all of his options, and then I recommended he create his own company. His initial response was no, as he knows that I also have an Internet Marketing company, and he was not interested in that.

He’s a very physical guy and I recognize this. My plan was not for him to turn to the Internet the way I did, but in a different way.

One of the products that I utilize and now encourage is for building your own solar and wind power systems. My idea was for him to build the systems, then sell them.

He decided to give it a try, and started to make wind powered generators. After getting his garage set up, and building some templates, he currently has a procedure where he is building four wind turbines a day.

He advertised locally only, at farmer’s markets and a local week end flea market, and has a back log of orders. He hopes he to be caught up by August.

His plan allows for both self installation, or he will do it for a fee. Right now most of his clients are asking for him to do it, which has caused him to be incredibly busy (He is considering contracting the installations out, so he can focus on making the turbines.), and make a really nice income.

He has plans of starting a solar panel division as well. He made one for his holiday trailer, and after his first camping trip, lots of people showed interest in purchasing one from him. But he feels it will be winter before he will have the time to make them.

This is just one example of how someone can make money, even in a bad economy. With some brainstorming, and sharing of thoughts, a company was formed that is generating a nice income for a former installer. If you think outside of the box, and use the information around you, you can beat the economy.
